Rock Edge – Headington

**DUE TO COVID-19 THIS GROUP IS CURRENTLY NOT RUNNING. THE RULES REGARDING SOCIAL DISTANCING, THE FACT THE GROUP RUNS IN A PUBLIC SPACE AND THE NEED TO QUARANTINE AND/OR DISINFECT EQUIPMENT JUST MAKES IT TOO DIFFICULT TO RUN AT THE MOMENT I’M AFRAID. WE WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED HERE AND ON THE FACEBOOK PAGE AS THE SITUATION EVOLVES.**

We run a parent and toddler/pre-schooler session in Headington, Oxford, thanks to the Oxford City Council Parks team who have kindly given us permission to use Rock Edge.

Please book in advance using our online booking system to ensure you get a place. We limit numbers to ensure that everyone gets a good experience, to help us plan our resources and activities, and to limit the environmental impact we’re having on Rock Edge.

If you book in advance for a full half term, you will get a reduction on the individual session price. Please use the discount code SIBLING30 to book a full half term for a second (or third or fourth) child at the sibling rate.

What? This is a chance to let children play in nature. Every week will be a little different but over the course of our sessions we will have bug hunting, mud kitchen, a rope swing, a hammock, den building, treasure hunts, stories, songs, fire lighting, nature art, clay, dream catchers, elder jewelery, foraging (in the past we have made blackberry jam and elderflower cordial!) and will encourage and enlarge upon anything else that takes the children’s fancy. We almost always have a campfire and the children will cook their own snack (damper bread) over the fire. They can help to prepare the dough and will learn how to wrap the dough round the end of a stick and bake it over the embers. We also provide a drink for the children and tea and coffee for adults!

Boring Admin: There are a couple of forms that participants will need to fill in on their first session. I will bring forms to the session, but anyone who can fill them in online in advance will save a few minutes of form-filling in the woods!

  1. Adult Medical Form. This is for any adult attending – you are just as (un)likely to have some sort of accident as your child/ren! So please fill this form out for yourself so that we are able to make the correct first aid decisions, should such a scenario arise.
  2. Child Medical Form. Please fill one in for each child attending.
  3. Policy and Media Consent Form. Please read through our Code of Conduct and Clothing and Personal Equipment policies and also let us know whether you are happy to be photographed. If you are not, we will of course ensure that this doesn’t happen.
